Overview
From the original Stars & Stripes flag to Dorothy's red shoes there's loads to see and do at this museum. This museum has everything you need to know about American history... And then some! Fantastic accessibility throughout!
Transport & Parking
We entered the museum from the Mall - there were staff handing out maps and point people in the right direction which was helpful. Not sure what parking there is nearby.
Access
Top notch! Everything has been thought about. There's airport style security to get into the museum. There are loads and loads of different sections to the museum - when you get in you can get a map for a small suggested donation. The areas are well thought out and incredibly well put together. Any information boards are at sensible heights, there's ramps wherever they are needed. Manual wheelchairs are available for visitors to borrow. There are subtitles on all videos. Anything interactive is accessible to all users. There were also lots of audio exhibits and braille panels.
Toilets
Great. Clean & tidy and spacious.
Staff
Very helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable - didn't need any particular assistance but sure they would have been fabulous if needed.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
A fantastic museum - you could easily spend all day in there. It's also free so a great place to take the family as there's something for everyone.
