Overview

The galleries are wide and spacious and the staff are helpful. There is a cafe and the shop is worth a look too! The lift is very narrow though...

Transport & Parking

We travelled on one of Basel's trams which dropped us off nearby. The tram had designated doors for wheelchair users which are clearly signed.

Access

The Museum is accessible from the main street through a courtyard. There is a ramp and there are doors to enter so that you don't have to navigate the revolving door. The galleries themselves are spacious and each floor is step free. The one thing that may be an issue to some people is that the public lift that we were directed too had very narrow doors. There was a manual wheelchair that was located right next to reception that you can borrow. There is also an audio tour that you can take around with you for more information on the artwork.

Toilets

Didn't use them but saw them signposted.

Staff

Very helpful! Especially when my pal was standing so close to a painting that he set an alarm off! There was a staff member close at hand at all times and willing to answer questions.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Some amazing artwork on display! They concentrate on 15th/16th century and then 19th/20th century. We saw artworks from Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and loads loads more!
