Overview
Kirkcaldy station has great access and the staff are very helpful. The local taxis drivers were very good.
Transport & Parking
Disabled parking is in designated bays in the station car park. Buses run along the nearby road some 100 m distant. Taxis can be booked and the local taxi company has accessible vehicles.
Access
Access is very good with lifts to both platforms and an underground tunnel to take you from one side of the station to the other for the different platforms. The station uses the RNIB React service to provide audio description to visually impaired visitors. Signage was good, clear and easy to follow.
Toilets
The station has an accessible toilet on the South bound platform. The door is automated, the fittings modern and clean. Plenty of space to move around.
Staff
The station staff were very helpful and met the train with the ramps and helped with embarkation. The experience was the same on the return journey. On our return they suggested waiting in the waiting area to avoid the weather (raining) and came and got us prior to the train's arrival.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Excellent service from the local station staff!
