Overview

Many good things to say about this pub, not least the food and the helpful attitude of the staff. Its not perfect, by any means, but for a building this age - its very, very good.

Transport & Parking

Massive carpark which, although doesn't have a marked disabled space, is never full, even on the very busy May day and so there is plenty of room for parking leaving space for access. The carpark is a little rough in places, but not enough to cause any problems.

Access

here is completely level access, although slightly bumpy over flagstones, into the pub. The main room is split into two levels, when booking request that you are on the lower level and explain access is needed for a wheelchair. The landlady will give ensure you get a good table.

Toilets

This is a difficult one to rate. Although there is no accessible toilet in the pub itself, if a wheelchair user isn't booked into their accessible room, the staff are happy for you to use the toilet in that room, which is completely accessible. The room is about six metres from the pub entrance.

Staff

Lovely, friendly, accommodating and welcoming; all with no hint of patronisation.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Pretty rough and ready, but very atmospheric with great pub food, good beer and lovely open fires in the winter. They welcome muddy boots and muddy paws - muddy wheels are no issue!
