Edinburgh International Film Festival
The Edinburgh International Film Festival is the world’s longest continually-running film festival that takes place in cinemas throughout the city. This year’s programme includes world premieres, wonderfully curated films, shorts and talks. You can use this page to read disabled access reviews of the city’s Film Festival venues before you go!
The 74th edition of the Edinburgh International Film Festival will run from 18th - 25th August 2021.
The festival will return to St. Andrew Square for an open-air series of timeless classics and blockbusters with 'Film Fest in the City' between 19th and 25th August, with movies such as Grease and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on display in this free but ticketed event.
Some events will return in-person but can also be viewed digitally from the comfort of your own home.
The festival has extended its showings to Port Edgar in South Queensferry with outdoor showings in front of the three bridges for 'Film Fest on the Forth' on 31st July and 1st August.
